Sibylline Meynet Gouache Art Kit: First Edition

Beautiful packeting, great instructions from the artist herself on how to paint gauche. I am so excited to try my hand at painting in the workbook she provides. The personalized painting journal is well made.

I bought this because several artists I adore (including sybilline!) use gouache, and I wanted to learn more about it. I also love to draw and paint, but struggle with inspiration of WHAT to draw or paint. With this kit, I get to practice and learn more about this medium with very nice materials while lowering the activation energy required. So far everything is amazing and lots of fun! The "instructions" are not very in depth, but they are a very good starting point.

I absolutely adore this collab with Sibylline. The art prints and stickers are divine and I have hung them everywhere through my house. The paint brushes are super soft and excellent for detail work. I love the quality of the sketchbooks and the little painting guidebooks ✨

I lov how this gives a workbook for you to go through. I struggle too much with not being able to draw what i want to paint, but this take aay the hard part and lets you just paint.

I thought that the guidebook would be a lot more descriptive to be honest. It didn’t really teach you the steps for each one, but it DOES show you the general process. There are tips along the way, but it doesn’t go too in-depth. I think it’ll help if you watch Sibylline’s process videos on YouTube as well as reading the guidebook. I was still able to complete pieces in the workbook, and I do think it’s actually good that it makes YOU work for mixing the colors and technique. I ended up being able to do more than I thought! I think for the price, it’s really great value. It’s also a lot easier to work with a set color palette for me personally. I did want to try getting into acryla gouache, but I often struggled picking which colors to get. This sort of takes out the guess work. This gets 5 stars from me because even though it’s not exactly what I was thinking it would be, it still is a great set overall. The paper is amazing as well. It does not buckle, and the paints are extremely smooth and easy to work with. I’m primarily a digital artist, and this was a very easy medium to work with as someone who does not regularly use traditional painting materials.
