In our collective social distancing, we are grateful for all the global measures taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite these trying times, we are seeing how people from all over the world are uniting through kindness and are doing their very best to support one another.

In the same way, although we may not be playing an active role in sustaining the lives of those affected by the pandemic, we want to do our part by doing what we can, which is using our creativity to support the organisations that do.

Since the quarantine, Mossery has been drawing up plans to lend a hand towards the vulnerable communities affected by the pandemic and, we are now ready to announce our Mossery Fundraiser.

Doing Good

We have set an initial goal of raising $10,000 by June to support two particular organisations, The International Rescue Committee and Mercy Malaysia. The donated proceeds will be divided to these two organisations that are helping the displaced.

In general, these organisations have made it a mission to help the disadvantaged during these difficult times.

From April 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020, Mossery will donate $5, $10, $15, or $20 USD, as determined by the customer at checkout, per Care Card sale made at Mossery to The International Rescue Committee and Mercy Malaysia, up to $10,000.

50% of the total donation raised will be donated to The International Rescue Committee (IRC) to help those whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future, while the other 50% will be donated to Mercy Malaysia who does the same locally. No portion of the purchase price is tax deductible.

We have gone into more detail on why we have chosen these two organisations here.

In short, Mossery believes in borderless human empathy, and we hope that our contribution can allow these organisations to continue providing daily necessities such as food, shelter, medical aid, and human compassion to people in need.

In consideration of that, our creative team of twelve at Mossery have thought of an approach to raise the targeted funds for this donation, and having worked remotely from home, put together what we’re calling: Care Cards.

What is a Care Card?

As part of our greeting cards series, we have created what we believe to be a way to close the gap between social distancing and act as an accessible way for members of our community to participate in the support of these organisations.

Care Cards are essentially a customizable greeting card where you can create your own avatar on the cover.

Personalised Portrait Commission

For the intent of this Fundraiser, we have arranged a Personalised Portrait Commission service from our team of creative designers drawn in our Mossery Care Card style.

Next, you get to personalise the cover with a greeting of your choice or write one for your receiver, and change even the colour of the card. On the inside, you get to write a letter to your receiver and we will do all the mailing for you.

Now, here’s how they come into play, for every purchase of the Care Cards starting from $14.90, you may choose a $5, $10, $15 or $20 donation towards the fundraiser to get closer to our targeted goal.

We hope that with your participation, our collective donation can keep these organisations running smoothly and make a difference in the lives of the vulnerable communities affected by this crisis.

Donate in 3 Steps

Submit a photo of a person and our creative designers will draw it in our Care Card style.

Write a message on the inside of the card to let them know you are thinking of them! If not now, when?

Click next, sit back and save on the stamps. We will make the trip to the post office for you.

To summarize, we hope to bring joy and mental comfort to our community by providing you the tools needed for creative expression.

By purchasing a Care Card, not only are you donating to a cause that helps the disadvantaged, but you are also bringing joy to your receiver despite the distance. In turn, this will also allow Mossery to continue doing what we do best.

So, we hope through this fundraiser, we have made donating accessible for those who want to support these organisations, while making your daily lives just a little brighter by using our Care Cards to help you keep connecting while social distancing.
